The Peanut Reviews

The movies that I've watched lately aren't...so good.

I wanted to watch Shrek but Linda said it's lame and pretty bad and she basically told me the whole story while we were strolling over from Nike to GSC a couple weeks back so...yeah.

Wanted Karate Kid cos it's Jaden Smith but apparently there's nothing else better to watch hence all tickets went out.

Wanted A-Team but it wasn't out yet then therefore we settled for Bounty Hunter and Robin Hood.

Worst decision ever made.

Ok so we didn't really buy tickets for both the F-Grade movies.
We settled for Bounty Hunter initially because I wasn't really fond of Russell Crowe and...there wasn't anything else to watch so...with spirits really low, Bounty Hunter was it.

Review: Walked outta the cinema

10-minutes into the movie I was paying more attention to the sushi that I tapao-ed in.
Don't even buy DVD ok? Promise. Just watch random clips from youtube you'd know the whole story. Oh nono...just look at the bloody poster you know how it starts and ends. -.-"

I know I know I was stupid to even choose it but...no choice can? Le sigh

Then we walked outta the cinema...back into the lounge area and decided to...check out the other cinemas. Prince of Persia was already 1/2way running...the rest were full.

Ok fine. Robin Hood then.
Second row from the front.

Review: -.-"

If you did watch Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves by Kevin Costner, you'd prolly understand why I said the movie sucked.

Ok wait wait...you're right why should we be sulking and comparing to the old ones. Why can't we move on and accept new ideas. It's Ridley Scott for crying out loud!

Always having his own elements ey? Oh yeah and the action was cool? Sorry I'm not you...just lemme beeeee

Russell Crowe is just too old to be in a...pre-Loxley era.

Cate Blanchett was fierce though. Loves.

-------

And finally...something good.

Review: *GRINS*

Oh well alright I admit.
I'm biased. I've been a Gyllenhaal fan ever since he looked like...

I wanted to name my son Jake and I could memorize lines from the movie I'm pretty sure Babi wanted to slap the fuck outta me.

'I have to get to Niagara Falls by Saturday to stop Chloe from getting married' ~ Jimmy Livingston, Bubble Boy.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

And yes I watched almost all his movies including the 'cool' Donnie Darko and not so cool Breakyourback Mountain. And all the other indie ones that I shall not name. See here ---> JAKE GYLLENHAAL

It took me a while to get used to his new self. I played the game but no, just forget about the fact it was adapted. I think the critics overrated it but the graphics were pretty fine (hell, like I know fucks about graphics) and the storyline wasn't totally predictable.

And best of all, we all did something in common.

We love ostriches.

Hello Monday.

When Antibiotics Fail & Chinese Meds Recipe

So I fell ill again on Wednesday while attending training.
Fever.
Cough.
Soarthroat.

and...

Borderline BP reading.

C.R.A.P

I'm usually paranoid that I might be suffering from the deadliest diseases ever. BP reading was high a year plus back, have been keeping it under controlled and seeing it fluctuate once again...does make white hair sprout.

It doesn't help when the doctor wasn't friendly, was throwing jargons at me and...the bill was a bomb.

*after waiting for 40mins in the fucking cold A&E section*
Doctor: Sit down. Close the door. So what do we have here?
Me: I'm cold. REALLY COLD. A little soar throat...have been coughing *and I blurted out my flu history to her including how I had pre-hypertension when I was in Advertising*
Doctor: Open your mouth. *shines torch*. Hmm. Throat's really red. Need to monitor your cough. Come back next week. Might be bronchitis.
Me: HAH?!?!? *got cut off*
Doctor: But your lungs are clear. Just in case.
Me: Oh. -.-". And my BP?
Doctor: You're worried? Yeah I'm concerned too. Usually cough and the lack of sleep might trigger. I want you to come back on Friday. Wanna keep it monitored. Ok you can collect your medicine outside.
Me: -.-""". Ok. Thanks.

Wanted to ask more but...wadafak la no need don't like you auntie.

*At the counter*
Me: How much ar?
Nurse: HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN, please. :)
Me: HAH?!?!? HOW MUCH!?!?!?
Nurse: O.o...hundred and thirteen. :)
Me: HAH?!?!?! I don't have so much cash la. Card la can?
Nurse: Oh sure sure can. :)
Me: *thinks to self* Cibai so damn mahiao still wanna smile liddat. *facepalms*

So there...completed course.
Never turned up for the check today. Giving myself a few days. Sleeping early. Taking my oats like a good child. And hopefully it stabilizes.

:(. Now someone gimme a hug.

Speaking of medications, was pampering myself to...erm...a little shopping this evening after work. Walked past Koong Woh Tong and decided to get a shot of the herbal tea to detox.

You know, those black shit that smells and tastes...like shit too? -.-"

So I think this is what happens before one actually consumes the bowl of crap.

Pick your herbs. Usually depends on your sickness.
Either your body masuk angin, your bones masuk air or your qi lari and mixed with fire.
So sinse will choose random roots and leaves and seeds and taruh all into a pot.

Pour in 5 cups of water.

Must use traditional ugly pots liddat if not magic won't work.
Pour in the water. Medium fire, boil till water evaporates and fills a bowl. Must be a bowl. Kenot be more magic won't work oso. Size of bowl...the book never interpret. Only mentioned A BOWL.

The medication is ready to be consumed when:
1) The neighbours call bomba
2) The neighbouring country thinks Dengue rate is so high the whole country got fogged (yes, that's how much the med stinks)
3) Open up the lid and check out the colour of the crap. Don't see a thing? All black? Ok can. Pour into a bowl.

Pinch ur nose.
Close your eyes.
Down.

Most probably, you'd end up like this.

But apparently it works.
And it costs...RM1.30.

Like...a million times lower than SunMed.
Or is it more than a million?
Hah.

Ok shit sleep.
1am d.

*lower lips tremble*

The Wedding, Foam & The Weekend

Currently listening to:

So I disappeared for a week.
Courtesy of the flu bug. Still partially here but to hell with you I'm resuming my normal life.

Peanut's believe...try acting fine. Lie to yourself. Your system. Instead of frowning. You might feel better.
Might.
Last week was total epic fail.

Left work slightly early, F1-ed to Lynnie's house, changed and we set out together to a god-forsaken place called Selayang Palace.

God-forsaken. So we thought.

Took us almost 2 hours to get there. *shakes head*

Garmin failed me yet again. The map given by the restaurant was trash. Attempts to ask locals were...futile as they only spoke Chinese (and we have no idea what Selayang Palace is in Cinapek) so all I got was (loosely translated): 'Hah, here no palace wor. Got hospital and shopping mall la'.

-.-"

So anyone who's heading there in the near future, just head to Pusat Bandar Selayang, search for the hospital, go slightly forward and turn left at a tiny little junction that leads you to a dodgy King Coil building. Restaurant's at the back. (If you miss, takper. Go all the way to the traffic, light, go thru the horrendous jam, U-turn, go all the way back to god-knows-where, then U-turn again, and take the same road. Good luck).

The Oh-So-Youngs

No four-season bullshit.
Scallops, full force. We had 2 of this because we switched tables. Awesome.

And they served Abalone too. -.-"

Roomie. Wo hen xiang ni.

Bao Yue.
And no I didn't mean this piece...earlier on.

She's a prove miracles do happen.
Bitch. *jealous mode*

Drebar.
XD

Fell sick right away hence went missing.
All's worth it for the food.

Sekian.

-----------------------------------------------

After staying away for approximately 2 weeks from Pyramid, I had my dose of Juice Works today.

Beetroot juice without ice is as gross as you think it is. Had fun seeping the fibre outta it and sucked it right down to its foam. Then got me wondering...

You know how annoying the sound is when one is sucking foam outta the narrow straw. And have you wondered what foam is? Foam is basically a substance of trapped bubbles isn't it? So sucking foam is basically sucking air. Means sucking nothing.

Ironically, sucking nothing always creates a non-harmonious, disturbing sound.

And just got me thinking...how certain dense people are like...foam.

The emptier they are, the louder they become, blabbing their lives away for no particular reason. And worst of all, they're always floating on the surface. Found everywhere, never willing to sink.

And always the leftovers too.

-.-"

Don't be foam la can? Bising la.

Ok just a random PMS thought.

Need to blog about Hong Kong Day 3 FAST! Work hampering in, memory fading out.

Oh and the weekend was Fantabulous. Because I saw my love of entah-how-many-years.

Haaa.
<3

Sorry Ah Kot.
Linda shall blog about you.

Now...
Work.

...and still counting.

It's probably the lack of liquor.
Cough syrup does not make up for it.
Although...one of it...does taste pretty good.

And there's one good thing about being this ill...you feel loved.

Not that I don't feel loved enough already but...oh well, 'optimistically' speaking...despite feeling like crap, it's the only good thing about being sick.

Need to be well for Jan Lamb.
Been waiting since...FOREVER!!!

Now, excuse me while I go spit out the...excessive.

Cure to Blues

Recently watched:
Crossing Hennessy

It's Sunday.

And obviously it's Monday tomorrow. Hence the blues and emo-ness sipping in bit by bit.

Best time ever to organize the HK pix. They'll ward off all evil. HAH!
While going through the pix, I had little captions running through my mind. It occurred to me that this post should be submitted to Discover Hong Kong to promote tourism on behalf.

*nods*

Day 2:

Wakeup call: 6.45am
1st destination: Golden Bauhinia Square

*yawns*

I should've stayed in to get more sleep but oh well...

Peanut, Daddy, Mommy...

Click to see my worn-out-sock face. Got stares from grannies who were having their ritual morning walk by the shore.

Sorry la Gung Gung Po Po. No time to wax my hair.

IFC, for Linda Chin...and Jared Tan.

Sorry maciam leaning tower.

Rushed off for breakfast at Causeway Bay. Had the name of the restaurant in my phone but I stupidly deleted it. But boy...'twas awesome.

We stopped at Repulse Bay. Stepped onto the beach and got bitten by...god knows what. Damn. Fucking. Itchy.

2005.
2010.

Okla different god there. But I think it's the same spot. They probably shifted the Laughing Buddha and placed Kuan Yin there.

Oh and that's...not Nat. Teehee.

Yuet Lou Yeh Yeh, I want hot boyfriend. I don't mind Wes Chan. Mm goi saai.

Drove back out to Aberdeen. Went on the same boat ride. It was drizzling by then.

Swear I didn't know Daddy was taking this picture. Damn fugry post but have to cos the guide was a typical HKer that was blady foul-mouthed.

Told us history about the floating village and how the Brits left them in despair when HK was handed over to China in 1997.

Quote Mr.Fisherman: 'Lei baan Ying Gwok lou jing yat PK lei ga!!'...if you don't understand, he basically said the Brits are bastards. ROFL

And he looks like a wax figure beside Mommy. Madame Tussauds inspired.

Self-reminder: Must bring family in there one day. MUST.

Went to a temple after that. Super boring don't remember taking any pictures. Then headed for Ocean Park.

My first trip there.

Whoever's planning a trip there, be sure to check out the weather forecast before you head up. And no worries it's HK which means their forecast is not by the Malaysian Meteorological Department. They're accurate.

Why you ask...*shakes head*

It started off pretty promisingly. Sky was clear. Wind was cool. Sun was shy.

Even the lunch was good.
Beef brisket rice and Pork Knuckles Noodles. I think it was HKD120. -.-"

The place is HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE. Dry, wet, high, low. Name it get it. But neh didn't go for the rides. Asked Daddy if he was interested and he shot me a dagger stare. ROFL

AH BOU!!! Damn fat. The Pandas were all in great condition. Enormous area for them to run about and...the room was damn fucking cold.

Right beside the Panda house was an aquarium. That stored weird-ass fishies.

Like this fella over here.
So tempted to reach for it, burst the...cheeks and see if it'll fly off like a balloon.

Tempted.

Good thing about HK. They have trains to everywhere. Even within the park!!! We needn't hike up to the rides. They had a train service that was effin' cool that slices through the mountains. But beware folks. The mainland people swarms the track. Make sure you're not pushed off the rails.

Daddy spent 15minutes just snapping pictures of the scenery. Clouds came and turned ugly...

As we were running off for shelter before the sky tore apart, a few other thousands of people were standing at open area, discussing how pretty the clouds were and started snapping away.

There were kids.

There was lightning.

Thunder soon followed.

5 minutes later, it poured. God bless the souls.

Waited about 1/2 an hour for the rain to clear.

Walked out to catch the bus down to Admiralty. And while waiting, it poured again.

Worst.Experience.Of.My.Life.

It was cold. Stood under a small hut for shelter, couldn't be part of the queue for the bus because we neither had a raincoat nor an umbrella. Called cabbies but...peak hour...all gone.

Fuck.

Poor new sandals.
All wet knees down. Cold. Not local. Friends have no cars. The only time the boyfriend would come in handy.

Daddy ran back in to get us raincoats.

I know right.
Gross.

Thank god for efficient systems. Got a ride in less than 10-minutes.
Nearly froze in the bus. Dead worried I would have pulmonery-edema (I blame movies)...then I slept.

Woke up, got us tickets from Admiralty back to TST. Walked us back from the station to the hotel.

NOT EASY.

Bathed. Got warm. Went out for hotpot.

Yau Gwat Hey, Along Humphrey's Avenue.
A few streets down Chungking Mansions.

Double thumbs-up.
HKD370. -.-"""""""

Fish noodles that we have here.
Squeeze them yourself there.

Lovely.

Goodnight.

The First Ever

Currently listening to:

Joana Wang, Joanna & 王若琳

For the past 2 weeks, I only managed to spend 2 nights at home.
Not fun.

Therefore, this comes from the bottom of my heart.
BEING HOME ROX!

Attended my first ever team-building session.

~ So what I got from it you ask? Physically...

1) A few cuts and bruises and loads of mosquito bites. The place breeds Aedes.

2) A 1/4 tan. Not hot enough for someone *coughs* Babi evil never tell me earlier *coughs*

3) A few nice colleagues and a whole lot of other funny ones which I don't think I'd remember their faces when the week begins but...they're nice.

4) Dry lips and a soarthroat

~ And this was what I managed to analyze. By watching the ones up there.

1) Life is unfair. True. But don't cheat. Shame on you.

2) Shit happens. Learn to accept it. Don't put the blame on other people. Especially the ones that offered a helping hand.

3) First impression is important. Stay nice. Stay approachable. Stay down to earth.

4) Last impression is equally important. Say thank you. Or say Please.

5) Take pride of your losses. Been there. Done that. Gain something. Win? Cheer. Lose? Clap. Get jeered? Laugh along. Don't defend.

6) People are generally not interested in knowing your philosophy behind the reason that led to your losses. You lost. Suck up and learn why.

7) Quote trainer: People change if there's a value for them to change. If they see the value, give them time. It doesn't take a day.

8) That being said, stop biting on the past!! If there's value, it will happen!

9) Learn to let go

10) THERE IS ALWAYS A KIASU IN EVERYONEEEEE (Ok I admit. I kiasu sial wan)

Kesimpulannya, it was a good training. But if this was for building leadership skills, it failed miserably.

All else wise, it was fun.

And best if it only happens once in say...10 years.

Self-reminder.

Hong Kong - Day TWO

And for now,

TEEEVEEEEE TIME!!!!!!

Heading for a 3-day teambuilding session tomorrow.

Reminds me of camps and trainings during comp squad years.

*shivers*

Need to pack. I've not even fully unpacked from last week. Heh!

And just a week back I was still wandering around the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui.

The worst ice cream ever taken.
HKD5.
I LIKE.
